ASHLEE DAY
Biography

Ashlee Day, Therapist, is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Oklahoma. ANDC specializes in individual, couples and family therapy with a person-centered approach.  With over six years experience as a Behavioral Health Provider, and as a graduate of Southern Nazarene University specializing in Marital and Family Therapy, Ms. Day is currently serving as a private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Among these areas are addiction recovery, life and career adjustments, as well as workplace issues, trauma-related anxiety, relational and couples counseling, school and leadership improvement, parent support, mood regulation, stress and anger management, and communication improvement.  

ANDC believes the therapeutic approach is most successful when providing support and practical feedback to help our clients effectively address personal life challenges.  ANDC integrates complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, we work with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing. 

Education
Ashlee Day was born and raised in Oklahoma City attending Putnam City Public Schools.  Upon graduation from Putnam City Original, she achieved a Bachelor's Degree in General Education and Professional Studies with minors in Sociology, Psychology, and Substance Abuse Studies.  After spending the first few years working in the substance abuse field, she achieved her Master's Degree in Marital and Family Therapy.  She continued to work in the Behavioral Health Field with a Long Term Inpatient Facility, for women with dependent children, Substance Abuse and Methadone Clinics, as well as in Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinics. She spent most of her time working with adults, families, and children.  Ms. Day shares that she is excited to be a part of an ever changing field where she believes she can be a part of empowering growth in one's life.

KENYA BOONE
Biography
Kenya Boone, Licensed Professional Counselor Under Supervision, joined the team at ANDC in 2011. She participates in regular professional training and consultation throughout the year. She brings 10 years of experience in the mental health field which includes but not limited to traumatic events, abuse, neglect, childhood development, stress, and anger management. She uses several orientations in her work with young children, adolescents, and adults, including family systems, cognitive-behavioral, and person-centered theory. She has concluded that utilizing these theories stimulates the enhancement of personal strengths and empowerment to reach personal goals.

Education
Kenya Boone is a native of Oklahoma. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. She then progressed to working as a Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Specialist at an inpatient mental facility. She went on to further her education and received a Master's Degree in Marital and Family Therapy. She then worked at a home based outpatient facility where the therapeutic services are provided within the home, office, or school. She believes in the value of every person within her counseling practice. She displays compassion when listening to clients while assisting them in developing their goals.

MISSY RIDDLES
Biography

Missy Riddles is a Certified Case Manager and Behavioral Rehabilitation Specialist in the State of Oklahoma. She brings over 14 years of experience in the teaching field, academics, and public relations. Her experience with teaching coupled with behavioral health makes her a great fit for the staff of A New Day Counseling, Inc.

Education
Missy Riddles was born and raised in Oklahoma attending Mustang Public Schools. Upon graduation, she received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education then pursued a Master's Degree in Education Administration. She has over 14 years teaching experience in the public school system and private sector as well. Mrs. Riddles is excited to be part of the field where she can utilize her experience as a teacher to help teach children and adults the skills that will help them grow.

LORIEN HOLMAN
Biography
Lorien Holman is a LPC Candidate with the Oklahoma State Department of Health. The primary focus of her practice has been working with children, with a special emphasis on those in the foster care system. She is focusing much of her education and experience in a person centered and family systems approach.

Education
Lorien Holman was born abroad and attended a variety of public schools and eventually landed in Oklahoma to complete the remaining years of her early education. She attended Oklahoma City Community College and received several academic awards before transferring to a four year college. She received a Bachelor's of Science in Behavioral Health from Mid-America Christian University in 2010. She has completed her Master's Degree in the Human Relations program at the University of Oklahoma.

MYRLANE MENDENHALL
Biography
Myrlane Mendenhall is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Oklahoma. Her counseling work experiences include an Internship at Sunbeam Youth and Family Services where she saw a diverse client base ranging from ages 7-82. She also interned at The Children’s Center where she worked with physically and mentally challenged children. Currently, she is working for A New Day Counseling seeing children and their families, many of whom have experienced abandonment and trauma issues. The foundation for her therapeutic style draws from Person/Client Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Family Systems Therapy. These three currently provide her with a foundation for developing a relationship with clients, helping them to understand their negative cognitions, how those developed from their own environment and families of origin, and to realize the positive cognitions they would like to believe for successful living. As she enters into a relationship with clients, she tries to offer a warm, caring therapeutic environment which helps them feel safe in exploring challenging issues. She loves meeting with people and wants each person to know they don’t have to go through their difficulties alone.

Education
Myrlane Mendenhall lives in Edmond OK with her husband Ken of 42 years. Both are natives of Enid, OK. She attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. Then, she worked in early childhood programs teaching for 18 years prior to returning to school to earn a Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Southern Nazarene University in 2008. 

JANE GUFFEY
Biography
Jane Guffey has been a Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Specialist for five years and a teacher for twenty nine years.

Education
She has a Bachelor of Science in Education and has attended many workshops throughout her career on child behavior and how the brain works.  Jane is currently working on her Master's Degree at The University of Oklahoma in Instructional Leadership and Academic Curriculum.

JUSTIN WINFREY
Biography
Justin Winfrey is a Certified Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Specialist who joined ANDC in the Fall of 2011. He brings over 8 years of teaching experience which makes him a great member of the ANDC team because he brings skills that will help clients be successful.

Education
Justin Winfrey received a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education in 2004. Upon completing his course work, he began molding the minds of today's youth in the classroom. He is currently in his eighth year of teaching.  To him, educating today's children is vital because they will be tomorrow's leaders. Justin shares that "Knowing the impact that I have made in the classroom, I decided that I would become a Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Specialist."  This allows him to reach out and help others in the community. He has only been a BHRS for a short time but shares that he has enjoyed it immensely.

MARK RIDDLES
Biography

Mark Riddles, Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Specialist has been working with kids for almost a year now. He has always said that he would love to work with kids and help them get through life struggles and hardships, now he can say this. Working with kids is a passion for Mark and he shared he will continue to work in the Behavioral Health Field as long as he feels he is impacting today’s youth in a positive way. He got his start working with children as a Juvenile Detention Officer with Oklahoma County, but learned a jail type environment may not be the right time or the right setting to reach out and support children experiencing hardship. He now happily works for ANDC where he can flex his knowledge and skills working with youth. This is something that Mark has always wanted to do and something he really enjoys.

Education
Mark was brought up within the Oklahoma school district and graduated from Deer Creek High School. After graduating from high school, Mark decided to attend the University of Central Oklahoma where he enjoyed studying sociology and juvenile delinquency. He graduated from UCO with a BA in Criminal Justice with a heavy emphasis on Sociology. With his education and background, Mark always looks forward to working with the youth of today.

NCCs serve an estimated half million clients each year. The NCC Registry at www.nbcc.org offers easy access to NCCs and can be searched by counselor location, name or certificate number. NBCC’s Counselor Find feature offers the same access to NCCs who accept referrals and provides their business city, state and phone numbers.  ANDC maintains professional membership with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (www.nami.org), The American Counseling Association, (www.counseling.org) as well as subscribing too and being a supporter of SAMHSA, PsychCentral, OKC Giving Day, The Greater Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce, The Edmond Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce, Oklahoma Parents Center, Infant Crisis Center, and many other Oklahoma based organizations.
